Thailand from Above – Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is the largest city in northern Thailand. It was a former capital of the kingdom of Lan Na (1296–1768), which later became the Kingdom of Chiang Mai, a tributary state of Siam from 1774 to 1899, and finally the seat of princely rulers until 1939. It is 700 km (435 mi) north of Bangkok near the highest mountains in the country. The city sits astride the Ping River, a major tributary of the Chao Phraya River.


เชียงใหม่เป็นจังหวัดที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในภาคเหนือของประเทศไทย และเคยเป็นเมืองหลวงของอาณาจักรล้านนามาก่อน (ค.ศ. 1296–2311) ซึ่งต่อมาได้กลายเป็นอาณาจักรแห่งเชียงใหม่ซึ่งเป็นเมืองขึ้นของสยามในช่วงปี 1774 ถึง 1899 และในที่สุดก็เป็นที่ตั้งของเจ้าเมืองจนถึงปี 1939 อยู่ห่างจากกรุงเทพฯไปทางเหนือ 700 กม. (435 ไมล์) ใกล้กับภูเขาที่สูงที่สุดในประเทศ เมืองนี้ตั้งอยู่ริมแม่น้ำปิงซึ่งเป็นแม่น้ำสาขาสำคัญของแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา

清迈是泰国北部最大城市的。它是兰纳王国的商都(1297-1768),然后成为是清迈王国,从 1774 到1899年,暹罗的一个国家,最后是王侯统治者的所在地到1939年。它位于曼谷北部 700 公里(435里),靠近该国最高的山川。这座城市骑坐平河流,湄南河的主要流派。

Chiang Mai

Mae Ya Waterfall is located in Doi Inthanon National Park, and it is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Thailand. This waterfall originates from several creeks that flows from about 30 steep cliffs or over 260 meters high. During the rainy season, the waterfall is 100 meters wide which looks like a curtain of water. Another interesting is that there is a hydroelectric power plant to use water to generate electricity at the end of the waterfall.

Doi Inthanon National Park Doi Inthanon is considered the 6th national park in Thailand with an area of 482.4 square kilometers. It is 2,565 meters above sea level and has a cold climate all year round. One of the most interesting spots on Doi Inthanon is a flower garden and the sea of mist. Moreover, there is Chaloem Phrakiat Observatory of which is the largest observatory in Southeast Asia. In addition, tourists can buy souvenirs, local products, and processed fruit as souvenirs.

 
Moncham is located on a ridge near the Hmong Nong Hoi Village which is about 40 minutes from Chiang Mai city. Just like other places in the north of Thailand, Moncham has cool weather all year round. The interesting tourist sites here are fog in the morning and a viewpoint from the mountain. Looking down to the south, the visitors can also see the Hmong Nong Hoi Village and Nong Hoi Royal Project Development Center which is a place for a vegetable growing plot and winter crop research
