Privacy policy

You can read this website at once without telling us anything, and it has no forms. Measurement cookies switch on only if you accept them, and you can change your mind at any time.

Cookies on this website: off until you choose

The first time you open this site you will see a small bar asking whether you allow measurement cookies. There is 1 category that needs your consent: "Measurement". It is off from the start, and no box is ticked for you. Google's cookies are set only after you accept, and there is one thing to know about your browser's contact with Google when a page opens, explained under Measurement below. If you do not accept, you can still read every page as normal.

The only thing the site stores in your browser without asking is your answer to that bar. It is kept in localStorage under the name thainess-consent for 365 days, so that we do not have to ask you again. It stays on your device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.

Our fonts are stored on our own web server, not loaded from an outside font service, and no videos are embedded in our pages.

The site is published through a third-party web hosting service. Services of this kind may keep ordinary technical access logs, such as IP address, browser type, time and the address of the page opened, to run the service and keep it secure. These logs are made whether or not you accept cookies.

The measurement cookies you can switch on

Measurement counts how many people visit, which pages are read and where visitors come from, so that we can make the site easier to read and know which content helps. The provider is Google LLC (United States), through Google Analytics 4. Please note: when you open any page of this site, your browser contacts Google to load the measurement tool, and the tool starts in a "not consented" state (Google Consent Mode). In that state Google may receive basic technical information about the page opening, such as your browser's IP address, the page name and the browser type, without cookies, before you choose. Once you accept, the tool sets cookies and collects full measurement data. The cookies are _ga and _ga_ followed by the site identifier, which last no more than 90 days from your last visit. The data sent is the page opened and its title, time, the link that brought you (including utm parts), language, screen size, device and browser type, approximate location at city level, and a random identifier in the cookie.

What we switch off. As Google states, Google Analytics 4 does not log IP addresses, and we have switched off Google Signals, advertising signals, personalised advertising and sharing of data with other Google products, by keeping ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization set to "not consented" at all times.

What we never send to Google: your name, email address, phone number, or the content of any email you send us.

The /hotel-kit/ and /tv/ pages, which are for hotels and whose links end with a hotel code (?h=), have no measurement tool at all. Your browser does not contact Google when you open these two pages.

Changing your mind is as easy as accepting

Select "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page and switch off Measurement. When you do, the site stops sending full measurement data to Google at once, and deletes the cookies _ga and _ga_ (followed by the site identifier) from your browser. Your browser still contacts Google to load the measurement tool when a page opens, as explained under Measurement, but the tool stays in the "not consented" state. You can also clear cookies in your browser or set it to block third-party cookies.

Data that Google received before you withdrew is governed by Google's own policy and by the periods in "How long we keep it". Google's policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

If we add a new provider or a new cookie category, we will amend this policy, date the new version and ask for your consent again.

What we receive when you contact us

This site has no forms and no fields to type into. Every contact button is an email link. When you select one, your own email program opens with a starting message that you can edit before sending. The site does not see what you write. We receive your information only when you choose to send the email, at business@nextstep.co.th (partners, hotels, producers, press and general enquiries) or advertising@nextstep.co.th (advertising and programme sponsorship).

The starting emails on this site may bring us your name, email address, job title, organisation or hotel, city and country, your hotel's TV system provider, channel number, the kinds of media you are interested in, and whatever message you write yourself. If you ask to be told when Thainess opens on Samsung TV Plus, we receive your email address so that we can tell you. Please send only what is needed for what you want to discuss.

Some pages offer a short note that you can copy and send to your own hotel. That note goes from your device to your hotel. We do not receive it.

The "Share this page" button uses the sharing function of your own device, and the "Copy link" button copies the link to your own clipboard. Neither sends anything to us.

The /hotel-kit/ page is for hotels that we send a link to, and it is kept out of search results. The link contains a hotel code, which does not name the hotel. The page opens that hotel's data file from this same website and collects nothing further.

This site is made for people working in media and hotels, for sponsors, and for general viewers. We do not knowingly collect information about children. If you are a parent or guardian and find that a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.

How we use it

Information from emails you send us is used only to reply to you and to follow up on what you contacted us about. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with others for marketing. Inside the company it reaches only the team that looks after your matter.

Information from measurement cookies is used to see which pages are read and where visitors come from. Our legal basis for measurement cookies is your consent under section 19 of the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019), which you can withdraw at any time as described in "Changing your mind is as easy as accepting". For the basic contact with Google when a page opens, we regard it as needed for the measurement tool to work as you choose, and we limit it to basic technical information. If you are not comfortable with this, tell us at business@nextstep.co.th.

Your emails pass through the email and document storage services that we use. Those providers can reach the information only as far as needed to run their service, and may store it on servers outside Thailand.

Data sent abroad

If you accept measurement cookies, the data your browser sends to Google goes outside Thailand. Google has a parent company in the United States and may process data in data centres in the United States or other countries it uses, where data protection standards may differ from Thailand's. We send it relying on appropriate safeguards under section 29 and the Personal Data Protection Committee's notification on protection of data sent abroad. You can ask about these safeguards at business@nextstep.co.th, and you can switch off measurement cookies at any time. Full measurement data is sent only with your consent. The basic technical information your browser sends to Google when a page opens (for example your browser's IP address, the page name and the browser type) may be sent before you choose, and may likewise reach servers outside Thailand.

How long we keep it

Information from emails you send us is kept only as long as needed for the matter you contacted us about, and no more than 2 years after that matter ends. After that we delete it or make it impossible to identify you, except where the law requires us to keep it longer.

If you asked to be told when Thainess opens on Samsung TV Plus, we keep your email address until we have told you or you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.

Visit data in Google Analytics is kept for the period we have set in the account, no more than 14 months. Google's cookies last no more than 90 days from your last visit.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it, ask for it to be transferred, and withdraw any consent you have given at any time, either through "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page or by email to business@nextstep.co.th telling us what you need. We will reply promptly and within 30 days. If you believe we have handled your information improperly, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Committee Office of Thailand.
